Chichester and its environs are the perfect 'year round' vacation and short break destination, and our holiday accommodations are ideally located to enjoy all that's on offer. Historic sites at Portsmouth Naval Dockyard, home of Nelson's flagship HMS Victory and Henry VIII's Mary Rose are within easy access and open year round.
Chichester Festival Theatres provide a wealth of popular and classical drama throughout much of the year. Local Stately Homes and Historic Houses open at varying times from March - November. Chichester even has its own Planetarium!
The City and its local towns and villlages, have a wealth of thriving independent shops and good quality pubs and restaurants.
Pallant House Art Gallery houses one of the finest collections of Modern Art in the country, and the Cass Foundation at Goodwood has a unique collection of Sculpture in its grounds at the foot of the South Downs. Chichester has a delightful Museum with artifacts dating back to its Roman roots, whilst outdoors - The Weald & Downland Museum shows off rescued ancient Sussex buildings to stunning effect at Singleton.The Roman Palace at Fishbourne and Chichester Cathedral are both architectural masterpieces of their time and are open year round. With gardens at West Dean, Denmead and Arundel Castle, there really is something for everyone.
In the shoulder and Winter seasons, enjoy taking part, or just watching, the surfers, windsurfers or kitesurfers at Bracklesham Bay and West Wittering - why not come and learn - there are several well established schools who will be happy to teach you. In Summer those same unspoilt beaches will delight and relax the whole family - enjoy the golden sands, shoreside walks, fossil hunting, fishing or watersports.
